Never finished Duke. Tried the world of business. Enjoyed
reasonable success. Hated
it. Bought a $3.00 Federal enlarger at a yard sale in Nyack in 1977.
Never looked back. Self-taught, sometime award-winning photographer who discovered that
he would rather be in the darkroom. |

Met in High School as Sophomores (1966).
Together ever since. Scary. Spent all but 12 years of the time in North
Carolina (Greenville, Durham and Pittsboro). Those other 12 years were
spent in New York City, working out that "bright lights,
fast-lane" thing. It was loads of fun, but when it is time to get
back home, home you go. We went from a brownstone on West 87th Street at
Central Park West to a log cabin in the Big Meadow/Chicken Bridge zone
deep in the woods of Chatham County. Yikes! |

Just before Christmas of 2001, we realized
that commuting to work in another city for 2 hours a day was no way to
enjoy life. Serendipity found an empty storefront in the village we had
always treated as a "bedroom" community, our outbuildings at home
were bursting with unused photo production equipment, and we needed a
change. Do the math.
We opened the doors in April of 2002. So far, so good.
